As the person who started the class shaking and crying, I can say that this was truly a transformative experience. For me, this full day of exercises was about overcoming what was probably my biggest fear. I even procrastinated going. But Herman did such an amazing job of creating a safe space where each of us was able to shut out those internal disruptive messages in order to explore a version of ourselves that may have been hidden deep inside. It turns out, I found public speaking incredibly fun, interesting, and something that I want to continue practicing in the future. For more experienced speakers, they will find value in sitting there as a student, having to be creative while thinking quickly on their feet, and learning about tiny details of personal mannerisms that they perhaps did not even know about themselves.
